Greener Pastures
If I were a single man, I would be longing for a mate;
If I were a married man, I would miss going out with a new date;
If I were a divorced man, I would not feel completely free;
If I were a widowed man, it would be lonely being me.
If I were a childless man, I would wish for a daughter and a son;
If I were a family man, away from home I’d want to run;
If I were a working man, I’d be bored from nine to five;
If I were unemployed, I’d have no vision to keep alive.
The grass is always greener in that pasture far away;
The trick to a happy life is to be satisfied with the path that you have paved;
So, every day I wake up, no matter the situation I am in,
I thank God for the life I have, to do otherwise would be a mortal sin.
