Green Eyed Mermaid
She has the greenest eyes I have ever seen.
She came out of the water with skin a lovely sheen.
She is the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen.
I did not know how to believe my young cousin Keen.
Wait until you see her, he assured me. You will see….
She is the queen of the ocean, entirely lovely.
I watched the waters, hoping his tale would be….
True, for I love the idea of a mermaid living in the sea.
I gave it a week, but then I ran out of time.
I wanted to see her rise from the ocean’s slime.
If wishes could have made it so, I certainly would have seen.
The green-eyed mermaid told to me by my cousin Keen.
