Green Arrow Thing

Staring starry-eyed,
          at green signpost,
              a little child asks,
       its doting parents,
        “what’s that thing?”
      their folks amused,
  “What thing is that?”
     oval faced child,
      rubbed its chin,
      in scramble for,
     words chirped,
     “green arrow thing.”
      a beaming smirk,
        from said child,
    “Oh it helps folks
      find their way”
      mother and father,
      are we lost today,
    the child thinking,
     then queried,
    some of us,
    are lost everyday,
   both parents mused,
    but teaching offspring,
cynicism a blind void,
      “someday soon,
     we’ll all find a way.”
parents in unison,
the child emits,
relief, a sigh,
     the family strolled,
    ahead under,
      watchful eye,
       of signpost!!!

Oh this is so different and intriguing! The way children tend to ask the most complicated questions sometimes, but the answer is found in simplicity.. not within layers of philosophy but within human emotions that are just too innocent at that age ... Loved your storytelling skills here dear Howard! And the flow of words! keep shininnn n writinnn always, sending you poetic starlight ~ 🍂🍁💫

Ahh!! Creative work. Yes, Howard, if we explain small things to children in a matter-of-fact way the hard explanations for the larger problems are easier to teach as the child ask harder questions. Thank you for sharing this one with us. I like the way you presented this topic. Way to go. Sara K. 👏✍️
