GREAT EXPECTATIONS
The input of two expected by one
Does not guarantee a job will get done.
It may have them moving on the double...
But often, it only leads to trouble.
Corners are cut to accommodate for
A lack of resources, when indeed more
Are needed for the desired outcome...
Yet, this is predicted - as well as some.
Take for example, a common workplace
Where big is expected in a small space.
"You will do this complete with abuses...
...there are no buts, what ifs or excuses!"
Jimi Hendrix once sang "if 6 was 9"...
And to an employer, this would be fine.
But then if six people should do nine's work,
Things would eventually get berzerk.
The rush would be on from the beginning
As the team strives with all thoughts of winning.
But just as things seem to be going swell,
More and more duties are added as well.
Each one contributing as a factor
Towards time given... playing subtractor.
As the speed of the group goes faster still,
Aspects of safety are little to nil.
Sudden injury would not be funny,
Nor would it save any time or money.
But always, there is the chance of a risk
Taken when given a pace more than brisk.
Great expectations when allocated
Should be looked over and compensated.
What is assigned is never completed
When its necessities are depleted.
