Grazing

Wandering around the orchard
On Billy Bulson’s Farm
Grazing on the windfall
And doing no harm
Apples, pears damson plums
All waiting to be found
Under the trees
Lying on the ground

When we’ve had enough
The next little treat
Into the kitchen garden
For something sweet
Raspberries, strawberries
Currants both black and red
Or for a little change
A sweet gooseberry instead

Me and Jilly Bulson
Savouring the joy
Of long summer holidays
Just a little girl and boy
Wandering around the orchard
On Billy Bulson’s Farm
Grazing on the windfall
And doing no harm

Thanks Ilene. I was contacted by Jill's cousin a couple of weeks back. Jill is still alive and the poem is being sent to her.
