Gratitude

Gratitude in life like salt in water,
unseen essence but how tasteless without!
often free without demand or order,
may be a hand wave, wink or friendly shout.
quality of us to show gratitude
is virtue that defines our inner soul,
a hug, a touch, a pleasant attitude,
will facilitate task in any role!
have you seen a child plant a kiss on mum?
how intense and honest can be a kiss!
wet with her child’s kiss her face may feel numb,
love that lights up her eyes you cannot miss!
gratitude in the wild exists as much,
we have seen lions hug their human parents,
creeper plant that climbs up a tree on lurch
its thanks to the tree is less apparent!
in conscience of our minds where we exist,
from where we perceive the glory of God,
show gratitude through prayers, do not desist,
to thank God for kindness should not be hard!
