Grateful Blossoms

The special things that you have done in humbleness and love, The words you shared, the pleasures spared, to help me when I called, The sacrifices offered up in your selfless way reveal a true servant's heart that I cannot repay. But if I could plant a "Thank-You" tree to blossom grateful leaves, I'd plant it in your own front yard for the things you've done for me. Throughout the years you'd know each Spring as the leaves blew in the wind, That I remain forever thankful for you, my trusted friend.

When my girlfriend's father died we planted a tree for him. We think of him each spring when we see his leaves. What a wonderful idea - the "thank you" tree. And a very nice poem. (By the way you misspelled "your" in line five.)

Thank you for sharing Wally. When my mom was sick, my sister who lived close by cared for her. Mom asked me to write a thank you poem for 'someone' but didn't tell me who. I figured it was for sis. After mom passed, my Dad found this poem and read it to me over the phone crying. He thought she wrote it. I've never told him otherwise.
