Notes About The Poem

2/10/2026 for SPEAKING OF DEW Poetry Contest sponsored by Nette Onclaud

Grass and Dew

walking on dew laden blades
trailing footprints leading to school
returning, not a trace remains
forgotten footprints like history lessons

I really enjoyed how time passes in this work. It felt simultaneously intimate but vast.

Thanks, Andrea! My habit is to enter most of the contests and write mostly short poems of whatever nonsense pops into my head.
