Grandson Starts School, Again
No, it's not his first time,
But my tears fall, nonetheless!
We were together for much of
the summer.
His mother, Maria, sees to this.
If we lived far away, oh, that
would be the worst bummer.
He has grown from a little boy,
way shorter than I.
Now he towers way over his short
Nana.
And to me, he's as beautiful and
tall as our Creator's sky!
I will miss our breakfasts and
lunches together.
And watching fun movies and news!
He is far more astute, than just the
weather.
He's off to seventh grade tomorrow.
Another year, and his goal is to
be on the honor roll!
And this year, more poetry
stressed, a most admirable goal.
So God bless him is his studies,
basketball, and piano playing.
He won't be here as much,
but in my heart he is remaining.
