Grandpa

Grandpa
Dalene Deale

The heavens rejoiced and our family cried
This morning when my grandfather died
But as these tears roll down my face
Dear Lord, I pray for your comforting embrace
Take my family by the hand
And reassure them he’s gone to the Promised Land
A stronger rock, I have not known
It’s through his love that our family has grown
Closer to God in every way
And I know God is proud of him today
I know the Father opened his arms
And welcomed home one of His beloved sons
And as difficult as for us it might be
We give thanks for his time given to us by Thee.
