Grand Babies
I hold them in my arms, twice blessed, the children of my child
Smile as fists flail in the air, observe their yawns, beguiled
My heart quickens at the thought that from the seed I sowed
Another generation breaths, two new lives have flowed
God has smiled on me it seems, as he is wont to do
He's blessed our lives with two more girls, and a big sister who
When visiting her grandpa, her wishes can't deny
They've wrapped him round their fingers, they're the apples of his eye
Written for a good friend who has just become a grandpa for the second and third time with the birth of twin girls.
