Graduation Day

Commencement ended soon and costumes came to stay. They got fit into me well, like feathers that sway; How evenly cute rows of students stood at ease! As heads high stand spruce and coconut and palm trees...! As the bright sun's rays glisten the waters troubled, A bit of joy of my friends, in me too bubbled; A tinge of pain amalgamated with soft rage, With my stress and strain within I did get engage...! What's graduation when exam was not done well? Don't more than potentialities, here, marks sell? One answer that though I knew as clear as crystal, Had stuck my mind like bullet in a jammed pistol...! Though I stood smiling for a better photo shoot, Mind turned numb, like a flute gradually gone mute; Till a gleam of contentment creep within me soon, Wouldn't my degree blink long like a gaudy balloon...??? 15 March 2023 Graduation Day Poetry Contest Sponsored by: craig cornish Syllable Count: Howmanysyllables
