Grab a Beer
Let us toss some beer,
All of my buddies are here,
Grab a beer and take a foamy sip,
And enjoy this companionship.
We’ll lie about the days of old,
When we were young and quite bold,
Discussing the children in our lives,
And how we fare with our wives.
Beer always helps it seems,
When rooting on our favorite teams,
Or to lament over politics,
And how the country needs a fix.
The more and more the suds flow,
The more and more we don’t want to go,
Until the wife calls on the phone,
And says “Get home now or sleep alone”!
I look around at every single face,
They are running out of this place,
To get home on the double,
For they too are in wife trouble.
