Got To Reminiscing
Got to reminiscing,
just the other day,
where it is I am in life,
and how I got that way!
I'm living in a seniors home,
which is where I ought to be,
with other people, just as old,
and most, older than me!
Some folks here use walkers,
some use wheelchairs too!
Names, are hard to recollect,
we do the best that we can do!
We all try to get along,
we treat our neighbors fair.
We let them know, in times of strife,
if they need us, we'll be there!
The people here, have had success,
in various ways, it's true!
Contractors, Chefs, and Surgeons,
just to name a few!
We're a group of senior citizens,
who've seen our better day,
living out our waning years,
in a dignifying way!
They keep us very active here,
the reason is I'm told,
although we're in our latter years,
they don't want us "feeling old"!
They want us to be happy,
don't let us get depressed.
Most cases they're successful.
They do their very best
They take us out to ballgames,
tours and shows and trips.
They bring us entertainment.
Put puzzels, at our fingertips!
The folks here aren't just neighbors,
we are friends and we are mates.
So, we will try to help each other thrive,
till we reach those pearly gates!
