Gossip

Gossip
The most destructive force on earth.
It has caused much heartache,
for what it's really worth.
A story spread out of resentment,
anger, malice and hate.
It has done in many people,
and sealed their future fate.
It has caused marriages to break,
cities to crumble and fall.
It is spread through notes, phones, lips,
and the writing on the wall.
It is spread by the young and old alike.
People like us, Peter, Paul. Kathy,
and our best friend Mike.
It is always a whisper not to be spread.
Yet, it travels father then the horse and sled.
Its source is never traced,
to its original beginning.
It's handed down so many times,
the gossip ends up winning.
Gossip, we all know what it is, "DON'T WE?"
It's always what we hear and never what we see.
