Gossip

A dreaded word in any language spoken
Like wildfire, spreads in dry hay
From the fangs of a snake, it is poison
From vultures of hate, it is their token
Of all the thing they have to say
They could care less what it does to a person

It is the enemy of the truth world wide
It moves swift, it is so fast
And evil lips cannot wait to tell
The story that has only one side
It is like a spell that has been cast
To turn one life into a living Hell

Words of a half truth if even that
A juicy story that will cut to the bone
Most of the time, facts there are not any
Just thing to make you look like a rat
As long as they can, will never leave you alone
Just built on lies that are many

Words never proven, just spread
For enjoyment of a few
Most of anger and hate, passed on evil lip
Before the truth can get out of bed
Of the terrible things that it will do
No friend of the truth is gossip

Here it is Sunday and the begining of a new week is upon us. And August is leaving us way to soon. I am enjoying reading such excellent poems today and am happy to see your poetry among them Danny. May your pen forever flow. Love, Carol

Well worded truth. If we could all just guard our tongue the world would be a better place. Sara
