Goodness Comes From Within

Why is it so hard for some to have self control? All you have to do is just have a little discipline. It’s a state of mind you should never have to be told. It’s based on strength of character that comes from within. We’re all born with an inherent sense of right and wrong, Whether into a family of the rich or the poor. Someone with bad intentions always sings the same old song. They use the excuse that they were never shown an open door. No one ever said that life was easy or even fair, But it’s up to you as an individual to see, That everyone has their own demons and cross to bear, And you’re the only one that can set yourself free. No matter who you are or where you come from, Or whether you believe in God or something else, You can always choose to do something good for someone, And know in your heart that goodness begins with yourself.
