Goodbye Grandfather

You left us alone,

we had more to share.

I never told you goodbye,

or how much I care.

One day you were here,

then you slowly went away.

If only I could see you,

to share another day.

Your love was unconditional,

you were my shining light.

Your smile would brighten any room,

and turn darkness into light.

Your eyes always gleaming,

you always hid your pain.

Never showed us any sign,

of dark clouds or of rain.

The hands of time move quickly,

it's course we cannot slow.

You will never be forgotten,

I only wish I'd let you know.
