Goodbye Earth

The world left us behind Burning in her atmosphere The cities and oceans vaporised All that we were aflame Blackbird like a prayer bolted Life grew a bad temperament An earthquake death faulted We didn’t hear the trumpet Drowning in this deep silence I miss the buzz of a mosquito I hear the sound of my own tears A waterfall into an inferno The earth cried blue rays A trillion tones sprayed like spice Her death brought dark days Her DNA spores into empty space

First the title of the poem attracted my attention then I found myself taken away by the words. I like it.

A poem about a great tragedy. Emotional to read but well written. Sometimes we question why?
