Notes About The Poem

As I head toward those older ages, I can't help but notice all the stars leaving us! I loved when Dolly sang with Jewel... My Father's Daughter.

Goodbye Dolly

Goodbye Dolly
we do sigh Dolly
No we cry and also smile
For a while parted

We’ll see you later Dolly
at Heaven’s gate Dolly
Off the country charts uncharted
Are you singing with the angels

You are loved Dolly
Can’t believe your absence Dolly
By golly I feel old
Bowled over when life flips over

Goodbye Dolly
See you later Dolly
We do cry and smile
We do sigh Dolly…

She lost me as a fan around 2021,when she sang her wonderful Joleen song as "Vaccine" for propaganda but who am I to judge her? I sure did love her songs growing up. And I think she did great things in her life. She certainly was a "doll!"

Yeah, that would do it! Keep your hit…don’t mess it up. We love the songs …likewise hate when they take a hit and change it up to no longer be a hit!

Yes, we do sigh a bit... although myself less than most, I imagine. ~ Not a fan of America's and the West's 'pop culture' at all, gw

Mildly for me. I don’t enjoy idolizing anyone.
