Goodbye

Goodbye to that thrifty thought,
That's never meant to see the light of the day.

Farewell to the fertile feelings,
Whose seeds fell upon infertile grounds.

Goodbye to that pleasing passion that stood like
a fortress,
But yet fell under the mere touch of the wind.

Farewell to the seductive sentiment,
Whose strength in the night could not go beyond
the door of the morning.

Goodbye to that beauty-full beat,
That's deserted by its dancer.

Farewell to it
That's true here in me,
But wrong there in them.
Goodbye!
