Goodbye
You came, I saw
Together we were supposed to conquer
Not having you, is like a fish without water
Or a child without a father
Me loving you
Caused more harm than bliss
Eating your cooked meals
And waking up next to you is what I cherish and miss
When I left for Iraq
We vowed, never say goodbye,
Only see you later
Different circumstances now
No more calls, no more e mails, no more pen and paper
I smile when I look up
Because I always see your beautiful face in the sky
But then my heart begins to cry
Because we eventually said, goodbye.
