Goodbye

The world turned cold that fateful day.
A silent response, stifled all I could say.
Stuck in a head that's emotionless and crude,
I wallow in sorrow, in a dispassionate mood.
Self betterment and for the love of it all,
I'm trying my dear, I'm standing tall.
The days pass, the seconds no faster.
A thought so still, I cannot move past her.
Happiness from within, is no doubt the way,
while shadows consume me, right where I lay.
I'm trying, I'm trying, oh God it is me.
I'm trying, I'm trying, to know what you see.
I'm listening for a future, hoping for a plan.
I'm searching the skies, for an angels wingspan.
Tell me everything that I want to know,
tell me anything that will help me grow.
I'm fighting the darkness, I'm fighting the pain.
A smile so frightening, a heartbeat does wane.
A lovers disgrace, breaking the soul,
a loving face, swallowing me whole.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye my most cherished.
Goodbye, goodbye, my songs nearly perished.
