This is a traditional meal in our area or culture..I would have some pork different cuts prepared different ways..I would have mashed potatoes and possibly baked sweet potatoes..Collards or the greens could be turnips or cabbage..The greens eaten equal the green backs that will come into your hands and the peas equal the pennies or change that will come into your hand..

                                      Collard greens chopped real fine
Pork boiled baked or fried, corn bread jive
                                                      Good luck

fantastic write! I really love how you set it up visually with the food descriptions and what they mean. were these meanings passed down to you through your family? mine doesn't have anything like that. anyway, good luck in the contest :)

Certainly a good luck meal Sara. I hope the new plants will grow more beautiful than the ones that are gone. We are getting spring like weather that is totally unbelievable for this time of year. The water is running like it is spring. I am enjoying this winter because it feels like spring. Good luck in the contest. love phyl
