Gone Forever

I wish I could turn back the hands of time To the days we cooked jollof rice baptized with thyme While waiting for maami to come from market Where she has gone to shop without basket It is still doing me like dream Dad you are gone naa niyen Like we won't see you again All your promises you could not attain Dad you promised to witness my graduation You said you will wear kembe to my emotional unification So all those are not going to happen again? You served as security for NEPA Why did you not defend yourself when death came? Despite all your military fame If tears could bring you back Dad I will cry you a river At least to see again your face Because you cannot imagine how much I am missing you in this phase But unfortunately tears cannot bring you back Which means you are gone forever To get over this pain is going to take forever Because you are gone forever The Cover of "Gone Forever" - by Chidinma Dedicated to my late Daddy - Joseph Titilayo Abiola
