Gone

I look around this empty house
It makes me want to scream and shout
Where did you go?
And why’d you leave me all alone
Why did you leave?
Was it something I did or was it me?
And when you came back
Gave you that slap
And you admit that
You got what you deserved
You say let’s pretend
It never happened
This is the end
Goodbye, please get out

Francesca, sometimes people who feel abandoned get angry when a loved one returns. Learning to forgive is hard, but he must have come back because he missed you and it seems he knew he did wrong. A sad poem to which many will relate. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I hope you enjoy interacting with other poets here and thanks for stopping by and reading my poem. Best wishes, Carolyn
