Gone

A new day came
But the sun no longer rose
The sky remained dark
It seems as though time just froze

The breeze that once blew warm now blows with an achy cold
Birds no longer sing
What once felt knew now feel’s old
It felt like this was the end of everything

Stars no longer hung high in the sky
What once brought joy now felt tainted and diseased?
Life that was once in abundance now seemed to grow black and die
Any hope for a reversal of these events had been seized

Would everyday from this day forward be like this?
What brought this on?
Would the wicked snakes ever stop their hiss?
He awoke this day and realized she was gone
