Gone

As I open my eyes  to the light of the new  day
Another long  night is through.
These days my life seems so scattered and
all of my thoughts are of you.

I reminisce  of your childhood,
And the day you took your first breath,
you always had so much love to give
Even after your death.

I see the signs you send me each day
And am grateful for them all
I know that  you are so very  close, but
I can't see you at all.

Son, You are my guardian  angel now,
And You will watch over me
It's not how I would choose it
But it's how it's gotta be.

Son, You are with our ancestors now,
Looking down from Heaven above.
Watching  over all of us and
sending so much love.

You are with momma and my daddy,
My brothers and sisters too
My granny, aunts and uncles
will all be there with you

Give them all a hug from me and
send them all my love
Until the day that I  see you again
in heaven up  above.

Such a soulful poem, Mary. I love the term 'cross over' ~ your poem highlights the fact that our ancestors -ie those who died before us- are waiting for us with open arms when it's our time to cross over.

moving poem with strong rhyme - you might look at my poem on the same theme - She is gone

What a final tribute to your love one. That is fine. And thanks for sharing.
