Golden Wedding Anniversary

To many 50 is a number.
What more can one say?
But this figure is significant
For both of you today!

For hidden in that number
Is half a century's growth in bond
That like a mighty Oak Tree,
Is getting ever strong.

Like any precious item,
Your marriage increases in value.
Yet, the quality does not erode with age.
Like a novel in progression,
Your story carries on ...
Each anniversary a chapter, day a page!

How much you have gained
In experience, in wisdom and in love.
At times you've surprised each other
In ways not even thought of!

Your Golden Wedding Anniversary
Will be wonderful for you!
Yes, today's a day to celebrate
What 50 means to you!
