Golden Locket

Ever since the day both my daughters were born
I've worn a golden locket around my neck
Invisible yet absolutely adorn
They're not the kind you buy in stores
There price worth so much more
The golden heart that holds them inside
Is so I can open them up whenever I want to look
Or just want to see a memory of when they were young
For all to soon their all grown up to big for hugs and laps
The actual strand of necklace that holds it there in place
Is held by pride, love and the greatest of devotion
Placed there by the Lord himself
God's promise from a father of a lifetime friend for one of his many daughters cherished here on earth
This necklace is unbreakable you see I keep it safely tucked away
That's my promise I made God when he gave me his angels on these days and entrusted them to me
