Golden Essence (Senryu)
Worn inside the heart
Your true essence is golden
You are gold that’s pure

The Japanese Senryu format has three lines as follows: the first has five
syllables, the second seven syllables, and the third five syllables. The pattern is
5/7/5 for a total of seventeen syllables. The Senryu is about an emotional
expression and things in general.
