Gold Bell Shadows
I stare into the brightness of day
Yet darkness leaves me no words to say
All this light but the blackness leaps forward
So prominent in my mind and eyes
The light evades me that live in the skies
I feel my heart silently fall
As I hear a faint distant call
The shadows echo toward my soul
I turn and see darkness as solid as coal
Within A golden bell hanging high
Caught amongst the land and sky
This black so deafening so still
Forming an eerie chill
The shadow inside it so undying
As the voice within cracks while crying
Why must this cold shade call?
To my mind making me sprawl?
Opaque mystery in the taciturn expanse
Does the light have a chance in this frozen dance?
Though the sun moves your shadow stays still
Only aberrant light may be the one to kill
Such night inside this golden bell
Beauty coating this darkness from hell
This darkness, this black, this dusky feel
How can it exist... How can it be real?
Will I ever be able to fathom this solemn art?
This obscurity within my very own heart.
