Going On

Sometimes I wonder how I can keep going on
The days are too short the nights are too long
The quicksand of frustration is thick and deep
I welcome the dreams that come during sleep
I go to the places I have known earlier in life
When I was living good times without any strife
The people I knew then were so good to me
I had no reasons for wanting to get free
From the constant consistent mental abuse
Dragging me down wanting to get loose
From the albatross of mood swings' noose
Choking my spirit and breaking my heart
If I escaped could I make a new start?

Thank you for your review. Yes, we all hav4e our ups and downs, life would be boring without them, wouldn't it? It is very important to get back up again.

Thank you for your review, which shows you understand how I felt during a rough patch in my life. I am usually an upbeat positive person, and able to pull myself up by my bootstraps when I am down and as in the poem's the last line, I go on.

Hi Janet! Please keep writing your poetry. I find that's a way to set me free. Oh, how I wish I could dream like you. Moods are like poltergeists that scare our souls. You are far better than your moods.you are a marvelous being. Panagiota
