Going Forward

GOING FORWARD

Who will bring about World War three,
Which continent will it be,
To unlock the frustrations of the poor,
From within their very core,
And unleash their long felt wrath,
A wrath that arose from an,
Impoverished and hopeless path.
A wrath that will be unleashed
On the rich and elite,
Bringing forward millions of feet.
As there is a huge dividing line,
It is just a matter of time.
Until the poor will rise,
And want to claim first prize!
Countries must now unite,
To settle this breadline fight,
Not wait for a chaotic state,
Not let history record this date.
Education is the essential key,
For everyone including you and me,
And should open many a door,
To the impoverished poor.
If we go forward in this way,
We will engage the poor to
Have their say,
Equality will then be the order
Of the day.

This is utterly appropriate. I keep saying "what if this turns into another Civil War with states leaving the so-called union?"

It is perfect during this pandemic Jennifer. I came from humble beginnings and worked hard all my life for the retirement I have now. In America it is possible to get somewhere if you work hard. Many other countries don't have that advantage. A beautiful compassionate piece you can be proud of. I am Faving it! xxoo

That's a brilliant poem. I often wonder when will humanity be allowed to live in peace. The kind of peace that she deserves. Alas, we have to witness injustices all our lives.

It is a social necessity that each individual has the right to happiness, education and good health and definitely, to not live in fear - ignored for centuries, the time for a new era has come. Thank-you Paghunda . Blessings, Jennifer.

Hi Vijay, thank you for an apt and very relevant comment. The writing was on the wall years ago, we just perhaps buried our heads like ostriches hoping the problem would just go away but now and no later, is the time for new era to begin, Let the poor be heard, whether black, white orange, purple blue or green- for we are all children of God. I personally feel we have jumped the first hurdle, watching TV and seeing people of every color, creed or nation come together in solidarity, it pleased my soul. Blessings Vijay, Jennifer.

I thought so Sandy, that is why I re-posted it. Who would have thought that the whole world is in an upheaval, fraught with danger, pain and intense sadness. I feel that dialogue and communication is the only way forward, but nothing much will happen as hes says 'on his watch'! Thank-you for your wonderful support always Sandy my friend. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Hello Jennifer … I have been asking this question for a long time Jennifer. Usually the powers select a theatre away from their own country to test their weaponry. Everybody loses in war - thanks Jennifer - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay, please God there will be no war, if only people could communicate , but then of course examples should come from the top!, and there's none of that. Time and history in the making will reveal all. Thank-you for such a relevant comment Lindsay. Blessings, Jennifer.

Very thought provoking and powerful words, Jennifer. When I think of war, I think of a crazy, authoritarian with nuclear weapons, not an uprising from the poor, but there is power in numbers and sadly the number of people living in poverty continues to grow. We never know what the future holds...thanks for sharing . Blessings, Rhonda xx

Hi Rhonda, Thank-you for a very relevant and awesome comment. Yes, their numbers are growing as unemployment has reached a record high - jobs need to be created but with technology advancing even robotic technology, more jobs are going to be lost. We do have a problem! Communication through equal education is the key. Blessings and hugs Rhonda, Jennifer.

Jennifer your voice is heard on this side. The imbalance between the rich and the poor, the Haves and Have Not. It is become so unfair that only chaos can be expected. I certainly agree. Well written and full of compassion for the poor...

I have been at multiracial schools from my senior years at school, and at varsity and also in business, I am therefore colorblind - communication and going forward must be about education, only then will equality really come to be, thank your for a wonderful comment Michael Blessings, Jennifer.

The same song sung through the ages. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. I have always been content to have enough. Decent clothes, enough to eat and a roof over my head. The rich have too much to worry about that they can't enjoy it. A fine write speaking out for those who don't have enough. Good job. God Bless, JB

Hi Jennifer, powerful poetry, and theory. I was there at the start of Rock 'n' Roll the best years ever on this planet. I Worked as a manager for one of the largest food producing companies in the world...I was there 1980 the beginning of what is now. A system that is waiting for us historics that knew a better period,,to die, because like so many here on soup, they can see through the whole charade. The billion and millionaires are now already with this pandemic, counting the % of gains made.

Sadly some have made money and profited during a pandemic and a lock down. Disgusting but there are people and there are PEOPLE! Fortunately there are billionaires and millionaires that have contributed. Each decade has transformed a little, and we have no reached the stage when a reformation must come about immediately. Thank-you for a wonderful comment Harry, be well my friend, Blessings, Jennifer.

Too much greed in our world, some do little work and get paid an obscene amount while the real workers get paid a pittance, no wonder people are upset. Plus too many unhinged leaders with their fingers on the button. God help us. Tom

Oh yes, unhinged leaders there certainly are those around! Sports people, Films tars, computer billionaires, Amazon and others should assist more towards helping the poor, whilst they can still choose, for maybe one day, they will be forced to. Even a few Trillionaires, how will they, their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren ever use this all up! Blessings Jennifer.

Thoughts about your intriguing write: Wars between and among countries are normally fought over territory. I think what you write of is more likely to result in civil wars, internal uprisings and insurrections... and I think you're right. The day is coming --- I would say even if the inequities are ameliorated some. The lid is off of Pandora's box, I fear. Great write, Jennifer! :) gw

There was just a spark needed for a fire to rage, the opportunity very sadly occurred. A man's right to breathe was taken away from him - but maybe the world should consider how our own hero in South Africa brought his rainbow nation together, he was imprisoned for almost 30 years, yet he averted a much feared civil war. Oh my and all this during a Pandemic! Thank-you for an excellent comment my friend, I always look forward to all your pertinent comments. Hugs Jennifer.

It is indeed very applicable to these troubled times, Jenny. We need to rethink values, and give words such as friendship, love and peace their proper meaning, not by means of empty talk, but by sincere action. ~ Warm regards & Hugs // paul

Action is necessary not mere deliberation - unfortunately too much of the latter has been going on for decades and in fact for hundreds of years. I went to High School in Zambia, and our sons both went to multiracial schools and as a family we are totally colorblind. Thank-you for a great comment my friend, be safe, warm regards, and hugs, Jenny.
