Going Forward

What could bring about
World War three,
Which continent could it be,
To unlock the frustrations of the poor,
From within their very core,
And unleash their long felt wrath,
A wrath that arose from an,
Impoverished and hopeless path.
This wrath would be unleashed
On the Rich and elite,
Bringing forward millions of feet,
As there is a huge dividing line,
It is just a matter of time,
Until the poor will rise,
And want to claim first prize!
Countries must now unite,
To settle this breadline fight
For a pungent smell of war,
And blood and tears
And desperate fears,
Lurk worldwide,
Across earth's length,
And breadth,
From North to South,
And East to West,
Because we did not listen
To a poor man's plea.
Wake up Planet Earth,
Education brings dialogue,
And dialogue the key,
Which could open many a door,
For the sadly stricken poor.
Planet Earth must agree,
Going forward in this way,
Will engage them to have their say,
But will equality ever arrive,
Will the working class ever
Work an eight to five,
And the elite would they ever
Stop their wine and dine,
Man is greedy
And has a beady eye,
He is also needy,
And uses and reuses the 'I'
So equality is the magic word,
Rejoice, let us join hands
And bring together this planets lands.

Jennifer, you hit the nail on the head. It seems there are more and more poor people about and the rich don't care. Very sad but also true, if something doesn't happen, chaos of the poor will reign. Kim

Interesting thought, Jennifer. Hello. By the look of things, i won't be surprised if such a major event befell us. I like your style...serious, realistic, to the point. and you address real issues such as the injustices which we witness moment by moment, day by day.. kudos

Absolutely Jesz - but unfortunately governments and politicians around the world are greedy and then this moves negatively down the line, until their greed affects the man in the street - something must be done urgently! Thanks for a great comment. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Hi there, It only takes one madman to press one button and another continent to reciprocate and boom two continents vanish, unless there are plans we don't know about and target every continent. But rest assured the politicians and the elite will go underground! Thank-you for your comment, Poetry wishes, Jennifer.

So true and deeply moving...a wake up call. Hope the world changes before your prediction comes true. When the wealth is concentrated in a tiny percentage of the world population..the imbalance will cause massive unrest. A prophetic write, Jennifer.

Your words are so true, Jennifer. As we move ahead in our careers and lives we must never forget the less fortunate, we will receive our rewards when we reach the pearly gates, plus it’s the right thing to do. All my best. John

I'm deeply touched by your poem, dearest Jennifer.. You wrote my state of ache, frustration and wrath! Anarchy is prevailing! Injustice is suffocating! A poetess of perceptive soul, piercing mind and warm heart is raising awareness in the finest of words and in the most heartfelt and sincere sentiments! A wonderful call to Humanity! In my fave list. I do share your concern and worry about what is happening to the whole world.. my deepest regards soul sister.. love and hugs.

G'day Jennifer … for some reason, greed and corruption always push their way in when humanity appears to be moving forward together. Your warning to the world is full of merit Jennifer - Lindsay

Thank you for your complimentary comment Lindsay. I believe that although the rich are getting richer the poor are definitely getting poorer and the dividing line is becoming more and more unfair, making the wrath of the poor stronger and more powerful as the percentage of poor increases. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Hi Frank, I hope that governments understand that the situation is becoming volatile at an increasing pace because as I mentioned to Lindsay, the dividing line is increasing on the poorer side, they are not very happy people at present. Thank you for a very apt comment. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Many years ago, my dad explained a voting process that he had read about, that one qualified to vote according to one's education and income bracket. Perhaps this would motivate people (going forward) to study, study and study more! Always great to have you visit! Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Hi Bobby, thank-you for your visit and kind comment . As I mentioned below - the poor are becoming more volatile than we think - when you don't have enough money to give your child food and shelter, a parent will stop at nothing to provide for his/her family. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

"The business of business is to create wealth; the business of government is to distribute that wealth for the good of the nation." But cash corrupts, and like Trump bankrupting the nation over a Vanity Wall - or Ivanka's trademarks, government steals the wealth without stern and active oversight. Well said, Jennifer! Aloha! Rico

Hi Rico, corruption is rife worldwide in the political arena. It starts at the top and ultimately reaches the man in the street who do not have the financial means to educate their children, as they are living from hand to mouth very sad and dangerous! Poetry hugs and wishes, Jennifer.

Your poem expresses real concern for what is happening in our world, Jenny. We will never live in peace as long as 'wealth' is not distributed in such a way that poor countries will get their rightful share. It's a shame that the rich keep getting richer. As you say, education is important, but many leaders prefer to sow ignorance! ~ Warm regards // paul

Hi Paul, We only have to see all these desperate people crossing over into the USA, into Europe and into South Africa, desperation drives them, ignoring the dangers involved, only thinking of freedom, even if they die in the process. A great comment, thank-you Paul. Poetry hugs and wishes Jennifer.

Yes Caren education is the key. What I admire is that some know their parents cannot afford to educate them, so secure two jobs, get very little sleep, pass their exams and become successful entrepreneurs. I love to see that happening and greatly admire such people Thank-you for your kind comment. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

There have truly been many uprisings in which the poor pursued their outrage. Here it seems to be the lowest income earners who endure the hardships of every economic crisis. Perhaps the future will hold another "storming of the Bastille." Though many of us pray for peace, we cannot help but be moved by poems like yours, Jennifer. Hugs, Carolyn

Hi Carolyn, Thank-you for a very relevant and wonderful comment. The rich are getting richer and the poor poorer. I personally think that if 3rd world countries especially, don't make a plan to educate the majority, the majority will rise up in revolt! Take care, poetry hugs, Jennifer.
