God's Promise
God, You promised me.
You said to me " I will never
Leave or Forsake thee."
That if I lived righteously
There is a mansion in Heaven
Made just for me.
God, You said that You knew me
Before I ever came to be.
I have not always been with You,
But You have always been with me.
Before I was here You had my life planned
On heavenly DVD.
When I was not with You,I was physically
Alive and spiritually dead.
But You were not pleased with my bad deeds.
You looked behind my faults and saw my needs.
Because in Your Word, the Christian atlas,
You promised me that You would never leave or forsake me
God You promised and I have faith in all of Your promises,
That You will keep them.
I will do my best to pass it on to all men.
Because a friend helped me when the world tried to do me in
I was living a life of sin.
The promise was witnessed to me.
Although I was in church most of my life,
I was not in Christ.
I'm not perfect: I still have flaws.
Last year I was on my way to see Hell's four walls.
This year I claim that you are always near,
And evolving me on a daily basis.
I no longer wish to go the same places,
Or do some of the same things that I used to do.
Because God you promised me thatif I lived right,
With You in Heaven forever I will be.
God's promise has been tried and true.
His promise is not only for me,
God's promise is also for you.
