God's Methods

GOD’S METHODS God has unusual methods to do a needed task, And oft the unexpected will happen when we ask. You’ll read so many stories within His holy word, And here are some examples, some which you may have heard. The Israelites crossed over the dreadful, raging sea Between two walls of water; on dry land you did flee. And when you came to Jordan, it, too, stood up to let The Israelites cross over and to the Promised Land get. Then instead of bombs or weapons, God told them all to shout, And Jericho’s strong walls fell and Israel had won out. And when Goliath challenged the armies of his day, God used a little shepherd this giant then to slay. That little shepherd conquered the giant with a stone Flung just right from his slingshot; that giant soon was gone! And those three Hebrew children thrown in the hottest fire Were saved by another’s presence from the king’s hasty ire. When Elijah long had traveled under the desert sun, God fed him by the ravens when day was finally done. And God prepared a fish then to swallow Jonah down And escort him back to where He’d told him to go to town. And when the crowds had gathered around the Saviour close, He fed them from a lunch bag, two fishes and five loaves. God’s most unusual method required the greatest cost, For it was the only method that He could save the lost. It was a perfect Saviour, an old and rugged tree, And nails and stripes and bloodshed that paid the price for me. I’m glad God had a method to save me from my sin, And I’m glad it was so simple: I asked Christ to come in. Though God’s plans may be foolish unto the human mind, The plans are true and righteous, the only such you’ll find. His ways are oft not our ways, His thoughts not often ours, But He has all the answers, and He has all the power. He has the right to make them and carry out at will, And He can give life purpose, with it a meaning fill. So trust His plans completely and you will surely see You’ll keep you in life’s present and through eternity.
