God's Message
My Prayer
The smell of strong coffee wafts
lingering through the house.
Black with a spit of cream sweetener
and my first sip will open my eyes.
Wide and glad for the day
the later rise of morning sun
Coolness waits expected
longed for after a heat wave
Spinners flow right then left
as breezes flow graceful singing.
The time is full of memory
more full of now and what lays in wait
The passing of the years is too quick
so for the moment
the hours dance with light and joy
God laughs and whispers.
God’s Message
I told you I would give you time
to live in the moment
to breathe in its beauty of every flower
to smell the grass after rain
to hear birdsong and squirrel chatter
to hum to the waterfall splash
to feel the heartbeat of the world
before I call you home.
