God's Game of Life

He lost all control
on the ice as he hit
glass laid broken
on the cement
the clouds turned gray
time stood still
his lifeless body
unable to feel
as I heard the news
that he had died
unable to move
I sat there and cried
God needed an angel
no one better then he
to open my eyes
and make me see
this life is so precious
don't take it for granted
never knowing what cards
from God's deck we are handed
