Notes About The Poem

God's Angel

TODAY I WATCHED A SMALL CHILD DIE,
AS SILENCE FILLED THE PLACE.
AND EVEN THOUGH WE ALL WERE CRYING,
A SMILE WAS ON IT’’S FACE.

WE DIDN’T KNOW QUITE WHAT TO DO,
WE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY.
WE SIMPLY STOOD THERE QUIETLY,
AND LISTENED TO THE PREACHER PRAY.

SUDDENLY THE SILENCE WAS BROKEN,
BY A BRIGHT AND BLINDING LIGHT.
AN ANGEL CAME AND KISSED THE CHILD,
THEN DISAPPEARED FROM SIGHT.

A VOICE WAS HEARD AS IT DISAPPEARED,
GOD WANTS TO CLAIM HIS OWN,
THIS LITTLE CHILD IS AN ANGEL NOW,
SO YOU’LL NEVER BE ALONE.
