God: You Are Hereby, Fired

God never existed don't you know? Only fools think it so! We who write on parchment really think... We, are the gods and goddesses who created it all, with polls of glistening ebony, primordial ink! Oh,how we weep over man's idiotic actions. We squirm like a paramecium and have visceral reactions. Some gods we are, aye! Refuseniks who give a finger to the Creator in the sky. I know poets here who know far better. Their poetry reflects God's love in their poems in each letter. We can play God all we choose. And if we do? We are unmitigated fools. Drunk and lying in self-adoration, hellish pools. October 7, 2019

Strong convictions here...Can someone imagine the created greater than the creator...something powerful holds this body up...and keeps order in the universe... an intelligence far beyond our comprehension...

Ha! Nice putdown of those who imagine themselves God... And I read the title differently after I'd read the poem. (Make 'God' a bit of an epithet, and then put the accent on the 'You.' --See what I mean?!) :) gw

We each should examine why we write, why we seek to communicate with others in poetic verses. If it is to share, learn give and /or inspire--then perhaps we are on the correct path. If it is for self-adoration, perhaps we should consider standing in front of a mirror a few hours a day instead.. A true poet --must--- write--it is in their blood.

Robert! There are poets who are great writers here. You are one of many. Anyone can declare themselves a Poet! Sane or insane. I question myself on this all the time. Ego runs loudly in the halls of the Soup~ after all, we are human. A sentence here is a poem? Or 5 sentences? Who are we kidding? Not me. There are writers here. Are they all poets? That is an Existential Question. just me xx
