God Save the People
God save the people
in this land
hold us in the palm
of your hand
watch over and protect
us when we sleep
and dry our eyes Lord
when we weep
you know we need you
to hold us tight to watch over
us and make things right
Father look upon this land and
save the people in your hand
dear heavenly Father I
speak to you tonight
with rioting and fighting
things can't turn out right
shine your light on down
and help turn our lives around
on this shore of slipping sands
we're alone and afraid
help guide us to understand
help make our pathways clear
and teach us right from wrong
cause the end is much to near
lift us up and make us strong
and forgive us Lord
for what we did wrong......
