God On a Cold Night

God on a cold night Hears my frozen fears The numbness of my solitude The wind around my ears God on a cold night Crackles in the trees Dances on the clouded moon Whistles through the leaves God on a cold night Guards the warming fire Waits in silence whispering To angels on the wire God on a cold night Knows my loneliness Holds the hope of harboring My soul come home to rest I live on the edge of permanence I yearn to know the light I speak in hushed vibrations to God on a cold night.
