GOD NEVER GAVE UP ON ME
I was out in this world
I thought it was all about me
I was blinded by lustful pleasures
unwilling to stop or see
God never gave up on me
no matter how far I'd sunk down
restored reborn renewed
my faith now on solid ground
I lived a life of decadence
only seeking selfish pleasures
I forsook God's word
fell short of His measure
God never gave up on me
no matter how far I'd sunk down
restored reborn renewed
my faith now on solid ground
people need to realize
and simply understand
the foundation of God
is solid rock not sinking sand
His word nourishes souls
His mercy lightens hearts
God will never give up on you
and from Him you should never part
I was down and out
as low as a human could go
I allowed the enemy to run the entire show
yet despite me being myself
of me God continue to seek
He never gave up on me Lord
Even though I was shallow and weak
God never gave up on me
no matter how far I'd sunk down
restored reborn renewed
my faith now on solid ground
now I'm back in His arms
a new creation in Christ
meditating on His word
my future looking bright
God never gave up on me
