God Misses Them Too
God misses loved ones we have lost,
for them, still shed a tear
Ever stop, consider their voices,
God no longer … does hear?
God misses them too, all their prayers,
so loved hearing them pray
Sometimes on their knees in the morning,
or short ones … during the day
Heard when needed their fears quieted,
times they didn't feel strong
Nights in a hospital bed,
prayed quietly … all night long
Heard sincere prayers of thankfulness,
of gratitude and joy
Woke to see another day,
told Him …. they did enjoy
Days intrigued by flower designs,
saw how an eagle flies
Magnificent colors God painted,
The morn ... and evening skies
God's glory and magnificence
proclaimed on starry nights
When mesmerized by creation
God's power ... and His might
Prayers offered during times of victory,
few times suffered defeat
Days taking sunny beach strolls, or
the nights … when couldn’t sleep
Night eyes swollen from flowing tears,
after silly mistake
Repentant pleas offered to God,
before slept … when awake
Millions of times during a lifetime,
with God, they’ve been in touch
Let's hope and pray when we too die,
He’ll miss us … just as much
