God Lifted a Heavy Burden
GOD LIFTED A HEAVY BURDEN
God lifted a heavy burden when He helped me look out and see
Somebody else had been burdened much heavier and greater than
me.
God lifted a heavy burden when He helped me to realize
What I was through His forgiveness, what I was not there in His
eyes.
God lifted a heavy burden that plagued my heart and my mind
When He helped me learn to realize it and in Him a sweet peace to find.
God lifted a heavy burden when I called out to Him in my prayer;
It seems like each time it gets heavy He meets me to help me it
bear.
God lifted a heavy burden, He gave me His sufficient grace,
And now I rejoice though it grieved me, for now I can see His dear face.
God lifted a heavy burden, the tears I shed now fluently
Because once again I can see that He loves such a person like me!
God lifted a heavy burden, He’s faithful to help me each day;
When burdens o’ertake me I trust Him to guide me along life’s
rough way.
God lifted a heavy burden, and some day on heaven’s bright shore
I never again will endure it; I’ll be safe and free ever more!
