God Kept Us For Each Other

GOD KEPT US FOR EACH OTHER

God kept us for each other; that’s plain as it can be,
And now we two are lovers--it is just you and me.
We may not have the money that others spend so free,
But we have each other, honey, and that’s enough for me.
I know my love is growing, just like we often prayed;
I know that it keeps showing when you’re sad or dismayed.
We’ve had our hills and valleys and there are times we cried,
But when we let love rally it cannot be denied.
My thoughts go out so often to you each day I live,
For I know you will soften the pressures my life gives.
We bear each other’s burdens and pray that God will bless;
And now I know for certain that I love your soft caress.
Your touch is like a flower that feels so soft and sweet;
I love to spend each hour there where we often meet.
I can name no better reason why I should love you so
Than to say whatever season I am glad that I can know
That your arms are open, willing, to console and caress,
Your lips are wet and thrilling and your love is just the best.
How I wish that I could show you what you’ve really meant to me,
But if I’m right, I know you feel the same so perfectly.
I try through all my kisses to show you how I feel,
Yet still my one great wish is that you know it is for real.
I’m glad I waited for you to step into my life;
I know now I adore you since you became my wife.
Our life is just beginning; that’s true, and yet I know
That we can keep on winning as each year comes and goes.
With God to help us, dearie, we’ll see each victory won,
And I’ll love you sincerely until our lives are done.
