God Is Nigh

His parents bid him a premature adieu
He hadn't become what they wanted him to
They've bid him farewell, yet he doesn't cry
His faith sustains him ~ God is nigh

His wife divorced him, badmouthed him too
He bore it with dignity, and from it grew
Though some say she casts an evil eye
His faith sustains him ~ God is nigh

His children don't visit, they never call
For them he hardly exists at all
When asked, he replies, "It's decreed on High"
His faith sustains him ~ God is nigh

Sad, but a testament to faith in God! I don't want to think about what my life would be like if I didn't have God to cling to. Blessings, Kim

Exactly. He is a never-failing source of strength when we turn to Him. Thank you so much for the perceptive comment, Kim. Warm wishes, Gershon

Sometimes it's hard to understand God's plan, but he is always with us.
