God Can Use Me
GOD CAN USE ME
The fact that God could use a worthless soul like me
I’ll never understand, nor will I fully see.
For I know my life well, my failures, faults, and sins,
And yet He wants to help me a new life begin.
I know all the events that my life has been through,
And yet He says to me, “Child, I can still use you.”
I know the many times I’ve let Him down and failed,
And yet He says to me, “My mercy still prevails!”
I think of many ways I’ve stumbled in my place,
He says, “I forgot them through My love and My grace.”
“Why would you use me, God?” I often ask Him now,
I know so many others who better seem somehow.
They haven’t got the past, the weakness, or the shame
That I have been brought through when I call on His name.
But nothing I can say; no, I have no excuse;
I am a child of God and me He wants to use.
So here I am now, Lord, a vessel in Your hand;
Use me for what You will, I’ll yield now to Your plan.
