God Came Down

God came down and decided to look around,
And was saddened in what he found,
He saw little love practiced that day,
He didn’t create us to live that way.

The saddest thing he continued to see,
Was man’s selfish lack of mercy,
And he also saw time and time again,
Was our sin and sin and sin.

To my surprise as he passed by,
I saw tears in his eyes,
Idolatry, murder, rape and greed,
And nothing but materialism for every need.

One reason he didn’t destroy us all,
Was the spark of something that he saw,
It was love in some people’s eyes,
Behind where the love of God lies.

So he decided to wait and see,
Who will join him in eternity,
Then God returned to his heavenly home,
And left us again on our own.

Well-put … Next time he may send an angel ... after that, let's hope he doesn't send Satan to wreak his havoc … ~ Gershon

Like Sodom and Gomorra. Our fate is in God's hands.
